Was bouncing on and off the net for the past few days, looking for e-mails to reply to. Well, what can I do, I have the typing bug. Studied Physics and got really irritated with myself because I couldn't concentrate that well, and when I did I realised what an utter idiot I was when I sat for my Common Tests. Doesn't help that Promos are coming up and the people I hang out with are the muggerish kind of people who chirp "7-8 weeks to Promos. Are you studying yet?" or ask me "Have you finished that chapter of the 10-year series?" which I haven't even touched. I want to reply to something to get my mind off this.
Am writing the IPW report now, which I don't think any of my team members will do. Don't blame them. Actually all I would rather do during IPW is to chit-chat with Nigel, Lawrence and Siu Qey. Or teach Jietong to sing all her various songs in progress. Talking about singing I suddenly fell in love with the song Blurry by Puddle of Mudd. Very weird, because I've heard it about 5 times already, and every time I was put off by the chorus, which consists of nothing but:
Can you take it all away
Can you take it all away
When you shoved it in my face
This pain you gave to me
Oh well, it isn't the weirdest song I've ever learnt. And it's genuinely nice. The part that goes:
I wonder what you're doing
Imagine where you are
There's oceans in between us
But that not very far
And the bit:
To make up your own ending
And let me know
Just how you feel
You know, I've think I've forgotten half of the songs I used to know. I was listening to the radio one day and I heard this song, and I thought to myself, "I think I've heard this before." Much to my horror, I realised that I knew all the lyrics too. Well, several of my lyric collections have been wiped out by cranky computers, and so the one on this computer isn't really complete, but it's...huge. And I don't think this is the hugest I've ever gotten too. In fact, I remember at one point of time I had two lyric collections, one called lyrics for those I already knew and another called unsung because I was in the process of learning those lyrics, and just one of those collections was bigger than the one I have now. So uh... probably will have to go and complete my lyrics collection at the end of the year. Problem is I'm better at remembering song titles than bands, and most lyric databases are organised by band. Plus the oldies don't really have a proper lyric collection, they were all stolen from personal collections. Ah well, never mind. There's limited space in both the computer and my brain.
