I'm back! *sweatdrops as everyone groans*
Happy New Year!
Remember school is restarting. *hears more groans* Pack your bag and iron your uniform and do remember to wake up on time.
Have a new obsession in tandem with my HP one. Yep, you've guessed it, it's LOTR. I remember at the end of last year people were killing me for saying LOTF everytime I meant LOTR. The things Lit does to your brain. Tsk. It was also in the odd ages at the beginning of the year when everything was settling down that I swore myself off LOTR fanfiction, by very wrong things on the FicBitches website that go bandied around a bit too much during Com Club.
Well, guess what? Raging fandom is still possible despite obliviousness and no fanfiction.
I must read the books again. I read the 3 in 1 during Orientation, which not only means my friend's book was travelling all over the school as we went from station to station, but I have almost no impression of
a) Writing style of Tolkien, except I told a lot of people it read like a History textbook.
b) Exact random characterising events
c) How far the movie deviates from the book
Hmm, maybe it's a blessing I don't know. But anyway, I will be re-reading it again, and I think that it'll be even more fleeting as I rush from lecture to lecture to tutorial to test to home to school to cca. And I can't read on the train because my mom would kill me.
Damn.
Went to Jane's house yesterday because she could have visitors over. Turns out that her father invited a friend from China around our age called Xiao Long. Therefore we were expected to talk. But he is a guy, who talks fluent Chinese. Hence Jane and I barricade ourselves in her room, where we can speak in more comfortable English without making social gaffes. Whereupon we proceeded to talk over music and Scrabble:
1)Whether any guy in his right mind would hang out with two girls
Charles does, but then, are any CWCers in their right mind?
2) Songs we like
I fell in love with Kiss From A Rose by Seal when listening to it in Jane's house, but fell out of love with it when I found the actual lyrics. What kind of a line is Love remained a drug that's the high and not the pill?
3) Things we did during the holidays
4) Lord of the Rings, specifically, why does everyone like Legolas more after the 2nd movie.
(Whereupon I protested that a lot of girls like Aragorn, and I would like him a whole lot more if he wasn't taken.)
We didn't reach an agreement on this.
