Yesterday was a really busy day. Two outings and a surprise meeting! But I'll move through these chronologically.

Day started with me meeting Ling-chan, where we had lunch at MOS burger and I got teased about my manga adoration and had Naruto pimped to me (again). Then she drew my portrait which wasn't all that bad and kinda fun except for the part where my arm went to sleep. Then we walked around, and started trying on clothes. Only that when we saw how pretty they were, Ling whipped out her digicam and started taking pictures.

Getting a good shot in a small dressing room is particularly hard, especially since sometimes the dress had pretty nice detailing on the front and back. We learnt that mirrors were our best friends, and fun to pose with.

Spoilers for 4th HP movie beyond this point.

After that, rushed home and rushed out again to watch HP movie 4. Had a very strange and funny time in which Yiliang was at the wrong Macs, and then we (including Siu Qey) proceeded to try and run across Orchard Rd. Which I couldn't do because I am unfit. *sad* And I got stitches, which I have never had before in my life prior to this. But we got to the movie theatre on time, whereupon we discovered that the movie would be delayed due to technical problems. it was so funny that it prompted Siu Qey and I to laugh.

Anyway, about the movie itself. It was the best adaptation to date! Significantly different from the books, but still managed to capture the spirit of it. And the various scenes were well-linked, unlike previous movies. Casting choices... Mad Eye Moody was really good, as was Rita Skeeter, done in an entirely frivolous manner in the show. Too bad Sirius didn't actually appear, but as it was the show was rather jam-packed. I had problems with Dumbledore's voice, but as for the acting it's the best interpretation I've seen of Dumbledore to date: a good balance of the solemn and the irrelevant. And Cho Chang has a pretty voice!!!

Of the original cast, Daniel Radcliffe put in a really stellar performance, especially with the rivalry with Ron and his reaction to Cedric's death. Same as Siu Qey, I didn't feel so bad when I read about Cedric's death in the book, but in the movie, when everyone was celebrating at first and playing music and Harry was there sobbing his eyes out over Cedric's body, and how he wouldn't let himself be dragged away... that was sad...

Not to say that the others weren't good! Hermione, Ron, Neville, Prof. McGonagall and Snape particularly stood out.

All in all, 4/5 for HP.
