QUESTION TIME. While I was away from this blog I:

a) Went overseas
b) Jumped from a height of 3 storeys
c) Sang in the rain
d) Was taking photos of ships
e) Saw fireworks on National Day
f) All of the above

If you guessed (f), you're right! I actually went on a training trip to Bintan at the end of the month. It was sorta of like ODAC: we had all sorts of team building activities, as well as climbing stuff. The most exciting bits were climbing the Jacob's ladder (a feat when some of the rungs were about as tall as me), the Giant Swing and what was dubbed "The Pyramid".

Let's talk about the Giant Swing first. The Giant Swing is a 3 story structure where you jump off a platform and... swing. It sounds easy, but it's the most nerve-wracking thing to be standing on a tiny platform three storeys up and realise that all you're relying on to stop your fall is a ROPE. I learnt a lot about myself just jumping off.

The Pyramid is actually a pyramid structure with various challenges on its sides. That was where I was singing, to ignore the fact that I was in the rain.

After returning from my holiday, work kept me busy. So busy in fact, that I didn't even get to blog about my glorious National Day. I was lucky enough to get tickets to the actual show. And boy was it worth it! The atmosphere there was awesome, especially during the military display parts. Excellent use of all the staging areas, including the waterfront. The only problem was that I felt that I needed more than one pair of eyes, because it was impossible to look everywhere and take in everything. The fireworks weren't as spectacular as the previous year's, but they were not bad.

I realise the above paragraph is not very descriptive, but it'll have to do in my exhaustion. I am seriously eyeing Robot Heroes Transformer figurines and thinking of buying them to put on my work desk. Hee hee.
