Yesterday, I was working on IchiRuki contest fic and generally being very lazy when Siu Qey said, "Zhiyong is going to watch Ratatouille, and Weizhen might be going, do you want to go?"

So that is how I ended up at the old Cathay cinema at 3.30, watching Ratatouille. The show was very charming, and the animation was really good. The way the rats moved and how the hair on the rats were rendered both when wet and dry were really awesome. The story was light, but each scene was absolutely lovely. Characterisation was rather simple. I would still recommend the show: it's a light affair that warms the heart (but surprisingly does not make you very hungry).

It made me long to visit Paris, because the city was just drawn so beautifully that I longed to see it again. I want to go there for Christmas, just to see the decorations.

After the show I went to Plaza Singapura. Along the way I saw, of all things, a deep red Lamborghini. It made me giggle madly because of Transformers and a pair of characters that happen to be Lamborghinis. Sources tell me that a yellow one has also been spotted in Singapore, which makes me snigger more.

It was a good idea to wander over to Plaza Singapura instead of going home. I caught a bunch of interesting things there: watched a man play the guzhen live, browsed some new book releases, took note of new places and old. It was also a good time to try out my new pair of boots. They're black, with ribbons for laces, and they're high but comfortable. I'm turning into a shoe whore, with no less than 6 pairs of shoes worn over the last fortnight.

And I've finally finished IchiRuki contest fic, though I don't expect to win. I'm not emotionally vested this time. Comments would be nice but I'm not going to keep track, or even bet on the outcome as I usually do. Que sera sera.
