I was about to crow to the world (or at least my writing journal, which I won't link here because I do want to keep some parts of my life separate) that I had figured out a way around my writer's block: editing. I was editing something my friend had wrote, and for once, the ideas were flowing around my head in the form of words. Frabulous day! Caloo! Calay! I wanted to cheer, but then I turned the place to the third chatper...
And I couldn't edit anymore.
And here I was thinking that I could use that as a chance to offer my editing services so that I could kickstart the muse again. Hee hee. Well, it looks like that route is gone, so it's back to writing blog entries again.
I think sheer exhaustion might have played a part in me being unable to write, because I slept until 9 am this morning. I woke up in the middle of the night last night shivering, and woke up at 7am feeling far too warm and cosy from the blankets I had tossed on. (I usually don't sleep under blankets, because this is a tropical country and I like to pretend that it never gets cold.) So I slept on and actually slept until 9. It's rare for me, since I usually regard mornings as the best time of the day. It was even rarer because today is a Monday, and I'm usually at work.
My Western friends like to tease me about the Asian work ethic, and I think they would be horrified to know that I was actually thinking of popping by the workplace for a course. I even mapped out the route as I was heading out to have a good hearty lunch buffet and shopping after. It was dashed though, by my mom's upset stomach, and besides, as I told her later, it wouldn't be good to give the bosses the idea that I would come back on leave days.
Especially since I'm a person who doesn't take leave. I still have 11 days left from last year, and the full 21 days from this one. Part of it was intentional; I had been planning to save my leave for possible overseas trips in the future. One is guaranteed: a trip to the US, which I have been hankering to travel around again after the last trip in Sec 3. I find that I seem to talk about places that I want to go, but I'm always looking for excuses to go to them. Well, this is a pretty valid excuse!
But back to the main point where it's important that I don't send the bosses the message that my leave is flexible. Since I'm a scrooge about my leave, I tend to value it especially highly, and besides I don't think I'm so important that the workplace would fall to pieces without me. So the bosses will have to do without my valuable presence for a day. =D
It was a pretty good leave too. I FINALLY got a pair of pants that can fit me! It's even a pair of hipsters, which I usually avoid like the plague since I have a fat ass. But this pair fits really nicely. The sales lady even said that I have a nice small waist, and so I should really go for hipsters because then I wouldn't face the problem where my pants fit my hips but are swimming around my waist. (Which is the case now. Amazing how she knew!) I also got a matching coat.
And guess what colour these are? ... Pink. Not barbie doll pink mind you, but a pastel girly colour. I am highly amused.
