I /love/ Hero from the Spiderman soundtrack. It's got good lyrics and generally good tune, although I keep getting the first bit wrong. The bit that I like the most is this.
~Since the world isn't ending
It's love that I'm sending to you
It isn't the love of the hero
And that's why I fear it won't do~
It just /fits/ me, that's all. But I suppose that what songwriters go for whenever they write songs. However, You Won't Be Mine is still my current song that I sing all the time because of these lyrics:
~Take your head around the world
See what you get
From your mind
Write your soul down word for word
See who's your friend
And who is kind~
And the bit that hit me the hardest and stuck was:
~Take your straight line for a curve
Make it stretch the same old line~
The next bit is very nice musically, but the lyrics are quite normal. Even so, they really really fit the music, unlike in Silent All These Years where you've got a nice melody and nice words but the words don't fit the feel of the melody at all. But that's another one that I like to sing, because it's in my voice range. If not, I'll be singing Bent from Matchbox 20 as well, except that there's one bit where he just /drops/ his note down(actually, there's one in You Won't Be Mine, but I can do that one. Ha!) and my voice cracks. So despite my love for the lyrics, I don't sing it. Here is Gone by Goo Goo Dolls is not bad, but it doesn't click with me unless it's playing on the radio and then I get the mad urge to sing it. And Shakira's Underneath Your Clothes makes me laugh, but I can see why it's popular.
But still, Hero. Very nice except there are about 3 songs with the same name, and sung quite differently.
