I got the OCBC Scholarship. Today, I went for the OCBC Scholarship Tea Session. For the record, I'm staying in Singapore. No overseas for me, and no med either.
Heh. I'm going to be an accoutant. Studying at NTU. Anyone else? One other person who got the OCBC Scholarship as well. And being with the other scholars in the really impressive executive's club was... eye-opening. They're really nice people for one, both the scholars and the OCBC people, even the seniors. And chatting with them made me realise there's a whole new ball game out there, a clash of intellect and personality.
Yeah yeah. Office politics. Ladder climbing. I find that /very/ interesting.
I got the rudest shock of my life today when I found that a senior and I were the only people making speeches. I was under the impression everyone had to make one. So I was really nervous until I had to go up, when I became really calm. I thought I was good until the senior went up. She had a speech that was simple but powerful. And people just practically jumped on her and offered her jobs.
I guess I'm a believer in that talent should be rewarded, and that seemed very rewarding. And I suppose it's also a good way to indulge my nasty side on office bitches, instead of keeping it tucked and hidden.
I got one job offer. I hope to get more next time.
