First day of work today and all in all it was pretty good. It was a WEIRD day though. It started out with sitting in the HR department and talking to a new guy who I had met before but totally forgot who I was. Luckily he now remembers who I am and is in the department affilated to mine. XD Coincidentally, he's also working on a system I'm supposed to use, and so I'm gonna harrass him when necessary. Mwhahaha.

Thing is, I dunno if it was just me but today everyone was so friendly. I didn't feel that anyone was nasty or stand-offish, even though there was a prolonged Q & A session where they asked me why I went there to work. ^^ Still, it was done in a genuinely amused manner, instead of the trying-to-trap-you manner, so it wasn't too bad. Going for the staff seminar before this also helped, as I did get to know some of the people there.

It was a little sobering that there were so many people leaving though. I took the desk of someone who left today, and my ex-buddy is leaving in 2 weeks, plus another 2 are leaving because they got married and their husbands are going overseas. That was the reason for the Q&A on why I applied to this department. The person who left today was also talking about some things she was unhappy with but I tuned her out. No point in getting too negative on the first day.

Instead, I'm going to think about my new desk with the shiny not-so-new laptop. It's a battered silver Fujitsu that I'm gonna call Nautilus (after both the submarine and the spaceship from Space Strikers). I'm also bringing things in to put on my desk. Right now I've picked out a pencil stand with a plane, a Blu Blu Doggu mug (from Aine-chan), my violin Mickey Mouse clock, lucky stars and Aino's tea (blueberry). I'm still trying to figure out what Bleach thing to bring: Rukia deserves to see more of the world, but who should go with her? The Hollow Ichi keychain Afrai gave me has been hanging out with her, but he's too fierce for work. XD We'll see how it goes.
