Tonight was the company dinner and dance. It was at Raffles Convention centre, and we booked the WHOLE of Raffles Ballroom. Surprisingly for a place on top of a shopping centre, it was rather glitzy and nicely decorated.

I was there early because I was supposed to do ushering, but I ended up handing out door gifts instead. They were pretty nice files with pens inside (and I was lucky enough to get a pack with nice popular paper instead of silly recycled paper). But man, those files are HEAVY. I am NEVER carrying those files again if I can help it.

I'm glad that I wore rather glitzy clothes myself. I bought a black tube dress, single-coloured but it has a nice design on the bodice of gathered cloth that starts out clustered together on one side and then radiates out. And I paired it with these really awesome leather shoes I got from Robinsons. They have really nice puckered design on the top and tassels on the strap. To top it all off, I had a pink gradient cashmere shawl.

The shawl saved my life, because the ballroom was horribly cold! They must have really turned it up for this event, because there were about 600 of us in one place. Even the guys were shivering.

I shared a table with all the other new hires, including those who hadn't come in yet. The same department people were all at one table, so we had a lot of fun chatting to each other. My name seems to be the most memorable to everyone. XD Also, I got to know more people who will be joining my department, though they're not coming in yet.

And of course, I had fun with the usual people who I've been eating lunch with. It's really great that I have people I do like and want to hang out with in my workplace. I hope that this keeps up.

We had Chinese food, 8 courses of them, though by the fried noodles I was dying. The food is not bad, but nothing to shout about. Service was quite good for my table. The Academy theme for the night was done well, with actually decently made in-house clips! I was rather amazed by the good job. Though I wish I could say the same about the bands that performed. XD Still, at least the trivia questionaire was pretty challenging and fun. Though I REALLY suck as a fan: I actually didn't know the order of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from oldest to youngest! Despite Lael making a whole fic about it! But someone else at our table knew, so we won prizes anyway.

Glitzy night, not bad food and fun times. I really enjoyed myself.
